Musical Inspiration

There are a couple different ways that creative flow can come.

It can come from within or from an outside source.

That inspiration can come from many forms and equally important it depends on what inspires you as a person.

I find myself becoming stirred and motivated from numerous outside sources, whether it is from something someone said, a painting, a reading or listening to music.

Musical inspiration is a major one for me.

I especially love what was done when the Kennedy Center Honored Led Zeppelin in December of 2012.

Led Zeppelin’s “Stairway to Heaven,” holds calm to climax and reaches such a high, that it leaves me feeling like I can conquer anything. Listen to Ann and Nancy Wilson (from Heart) belt out this tune on vocals and guitar respectively, with Jason Bonham, John Bonham’s son, on drums with a choir to boot at this concert that honors the Zep.

Now, don’t tell me you don’t feel inspired by it.

Ride the wave and go write!

I’ll continue to share what comes my way and hope it moves you like it does me.
