For this painting, I wanted movement and dimension that captured another realm, like the unexplored universe of space. I created “Space Flare” using multiple colors for the underpainting and used palette knives to dig into that underpainting to create texture. I applied sweeping strokes of acrylic paint over the underpainting to create depth and dimension.
