I wanted to paint a beach scene that was during the day, after a storm, with colors that pulled you in and water that had rolling waves. I painted and repainted the sky at least ten times as I did not like the color and clouds; it did not capture the overall feeling of the painting I wanted it to have. The painting has a old-timey feel to it due the number of layers created.
