The Greatest Story Commandment:
“Make me care,” says Andrew Stanton about the art of storytelling, who has written animated films Finding Nemo, Toy Story, WALL-E, A Bug’s Life, Monsters, Inc. and the non-animated film John Carter.
“Storytelling is joke telling. It’s knowing your punch line; you’re ending. Knowing everything you’re saying from the first sentence to the last is leading to a singular goal, and ideally confirming some truth that deepens our understandings of who we are as human beings.”
I’m sure you’ll laugh when you hear Andrew’s first story while speaking at TED.com!
